Donation Return & Refund Policy

Effective Date

Lethabo La Bana Foundation values the generosity and support of our donors. Every donation helps us improve the lives of children and families affected by paediatric surgical conditions, with a special focus on severe burns.

As donations are charitable contributions made voluntarily to support our mission, donations are generally considered non-refundable. However, we understand that errors may occur and have outlined our refund process below.

Refund Requests

Refunds may be considered under the following circumstances:

• A donation was made in error.
• An incorrect donation amount was entered.
• Duplicate transactions occurred.
• A donation was made without the donor's authorisation.
• A technical error resulted in an unintended payment.

Requests for refunds must be submitted within 30 days of the donation date.

How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please contact the Foundation and provide:

• Full name
• Contact details
• Date of donation
• Donation amount
• Proof of payment or transaction reference
• Reason for the refund request

Our team will review each request individually and respond as soon as reasonably possible.

Approved Refunds

Where a refund request is approved:

• Refunds will be processed using the original payment method where possible.
• Processing times may vary depending on the payment provider or financial institution involved.
• The Foundation reserves the right to request additional information to verify the donation before processing a refund.

Donations Already Allocated

As a non-profit organisation, donations may be allocated to programmes, projects, medical support initiatives, operational costs, or other charitable activities shortly after they are received.

For this reason, refund requests submitted after funds have been substantially committed or utilised may not be eligible for reimbursement, except where required by law.

Recurring Donations

Donors who have signed up for recurring donations may cancel future donations at any time by contacting the Foundation or following the cancellation process provided through the payment platform.

Cancellation of future recurring donations does not automatically qualify previous donations for refund.

Fraudulent Transactions

If you believe a donation has been made fraudulently using your payment information, please contact your financial institution immediately and notify the Foundation as soon as possible.

We will cooperate fully with payment providers and financial institutions in the investigation of fraudulent transactions.

Changes to This Policy

Lethabo La Bana Foundation reserves the right to amend this Donation Return & Refund Policy at any time. Any changes will be published on this page and become effective upon publication.
